For the first time in nearly a week the workers at Butler Hospital spoke out, it was also the first time since negotiations last week and that left the media all wanting to hear what they had to say!

Dawn Williams speaks to the press at the Butler Hospital strike line.
"Enough is enough. This lockout needs to end. The only conclusion we can draw is that Butler wants to bully and punish the workers for holding them accountable to fixing a broken system.”
Courtney Threats, Social Worker, Butler Hospital
"The process of coming up with the last two proposals that we did on Wednesday was…very painful. It was very difficult because these aren’t numbers on a page. They represent a real impact on our people, our members, their lives, and their families."
Dawn Williams, RN, Butler Hospital
“We understand the cost of health care is rising all around us, so we’re willing to pay a little bit more to have a really good health insurance plan as well as to get this done. It’s been 90 days. Why are we still out here? We are ready to go back to work.”
Brooke Huminski, Social Services Clinician, Butler Hospital
"We made cuts and we made choices that were difficult."
Dawn Williams, RN, Butler Hospital
"We're simply asking the hospital to sign the fair proposal that we've had on the table so we can get back to work."
Courtney Threats, Social Worker, Butler Hospital
"I believe in lifting the lowest paid workers out of poverty if it means they can finally pay that extra bill a month. This process is frustrating because we've come so close and we don't know what else they want."
Virgil Soares, Head Chef, Butler Hospital
“Butler Hospital, do the right thing. This is for our community. This is for all of us. Anyone watching right now can be affected by mental illness. It does not discriminate. Get us back to work.”
Brooke Huminski, Social Services Clinician, Butler Hospital
