Healthcare workers at Butler Hospital, now in their 12th week on strike, will hold a press conference Tuesday morning to reflect on the fight so far and highlight the growing support behind their call for change.
As the strike continues, workers will share updates on their continued efforts, both on the picket line and in the broader community, to secure a fair contract and advocate for a healthcare system that values patients and caregivers alike.

The unfair labor practice strike at Butler Hospital is the longest hospital lock-out in state history, beginning on May 15. SEIU 1199 New England represents over 800 frontline staff at Butler Hospital (with over 100 vacant positions) including registered nurses, mental health workers, clerical, environmental service and dietary staff. On April 25, 91% of the entire workforce of frontline staff at Butler Hospital - or 99% of workers who participated - voted to authorize the strike citing management’s refusal to address the workplace violence epidemic and below market value wages.
